About This Waiver
The CAC waiver (Community Alternative Care) is a Minnesota Medical Assistance waiver for people who are chronically ill or medically fragile and would otherwise require hospital level of care. It funds intensive home and community-based services — in-home nursing-level supports, adult foster care, and 245D-licensed residential settings equipped for complex medical needs.
