About This Waiver
The DD waiver (Developmental Disabilities) is a Minnesota Medical Assistance waiver for people with a developmental disability or a related condition who would otherwise require care in an ICF/DD (Intermediate Care Facility). It funds residential supports in 245D-licensed community residential settings (CRS) and adult foster care, along with in-home supports, day services, and employment supports. DD waiver placements make up a large share of Minnesota group home residents.
The DD waiver serves people of any age with a developmental disability or related condition that began before age 22, who need the level of care provided in an ICF/DD. Eligibility runs through a county or tribal MnCHOICES assessment and disability determination.
